Founders

NickNick Langholff 

Nicholas is a Producer / Production Manager / First Assistant Director / Location Scout and wannabe Driftless Area resident. Nicholas is based between Milwaukee, Mineral Point, and at the hotel wherever his current film shoot has him. He has been making movies, commercials, and television shows for the last 15 years. He has shot in 30 states and on location in Sudan, Uganda, Brazil, Dominica, and Mexico. Nicholas first resided in the Driftless Area in the early 2000's when he House Managed American Players Theatre, splitting his work year between there and film sets in New York City. Finding a way to live full-time in the Driftless Area is still one of his main life goals.

DarrenDarren Burrows

Darren is perhaps best known from the hit television series Northern Exposure where he played Ed Chigliak for six seasons. Darren's versatility spans the big screen as well, where he has worked with some of the most prominent directors in the business, including leading roles in Steven Spielberg's Amistad, Brian DePalma's Casualties of War, John Waters' Cry Baby, and Stephen Fears' The Hi-Lo Country. More recently, Darren starred in Ira Sachs' Forty Shades of Blue and guest-starred on the long-running series CSI.

SusanKernsColorSusan Santha Kerns
Susan Santha Kerns is an Assistant Professor of Cinema Art Science at Columbia College Chicago. She is currently producing the documentary Last of the Lawsonomists and has produced or directed numerous award-winning short films. She also wrote the screenplay for Little Red, which won several awards at the Driftless Film Festival. Previously, Susan was Education Director at the Milwaukee Film Festival, and she holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Ericka FrederickErickaFrederick

Ericka Frederick came to film by way of dance. As a modern dance major at the University of Michigan, she created films as backdrops to her choreography, and integrated the film into live performances. At 20, she owned her own production company, Sluggo Films, producing media in Detroit. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Dance in 1992. Since then Ericka has maintained a strong career in the film industry, including working for The Eastman Kodak for over 14 years. Ericka produced several independent short and feature films, including the short film By Courier which was nominated for an Academy Award in 2001. Highly involved in her community, she serves with several not-for-profits and a variety international film festival advisory boards.

Ericka recently graduated with a masters in fine arts from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee's graduate film department, and is working as an adjunct professor in the department.

Lori Felker

Lori Felker is an artist/filmmaker, teacher, programmer and projectionist based in Chicago.   She loves performing and collaborating. She works in a variety of styles and formats and has shown her work internationally at film festivals and art spaces.
